Do these words bring up ideas of people that are “airy fairy”, ungrounded, and way out there?

And what is the definition of intuition anyway?

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, it is the power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference.

I grew up hearing inklings of intuition, but we just called it something else. Phrases like, “I just have a feeling about that.”, “I just get lucky.”, or “I just know something bad is going to happen.” are reflections of using inner knowledge. As a child, I had times when I knew that some events were going to happen. I got met with words of disbelief and feelings of being different. Standing out and feeling different were not on my list of aspirations. I learned as a child to fit into society’s code of behavior and chose to turn off my gift of knowing.

At the age of eighteen, I was drawn to learning about intuition. I read a book about Edgar Cayce, and I was enthralled about how he used his intuition to be of service to help people. Edgar Cayce considered intuition as a natural ability of the soul. Everybody has some type of intuition. Whether we choose to use it or not is entirely up to us.

After reading many books about intuition, I began the journey into reconnecting with the valuable gift I tossed aside as a child. I thought to myself, “if I was born with this gift then why wouldn’t I want to use it?”

There were many times that I listened to my inner knowing. When I was in college, I bonded with a great group of people in a class I was taking. One guy in particular wanted to go to a restaurant after class for a happy hour with the group of people. When the time came for the happy hour, he was the only one that was going to go besides myself. I had a strong inner knowing that something bad was going to happen and I didn’t go. After I didn’t go, I never saw the guy again.

As I started to listen to my intuition, it became stronger, yet I still had to learn to listen to my inner knowings. When I was on a cruise ship, I received a free ten-dollar voucher to play on the slots or one of the chance games. I had an inner knowing that 28 black was going to win on the roulette wheel. However, I had no idea how to play the game. I asked the person that I was with on how to play the roulette wheel. He informed me that you either place the bet on either red or black but not on a particular number. I followed his advice and it landed on black where I had placed my bet, however, it did land on the number 28 just like I knew it would.

I continued to practice my gift of intuition and found many ways to assist me on my spiritual journey. I found that when I am connected to this gift, that life is easier and life flows.

As I connect with people, I apply my intuition to pinpoint places where individuals are stuck in life and use transformational tools to break down the barriers. I also apply my intuition to be able to identify other people’s intuitive gifts and how they can harness them into their own lives. I believe that everyone has intuition.

Imagine if you used your intuition in life every day.
How would your life open up for you?
